I have a huge column that has product codes. Different reps handle diffrent prod. How can I have a col that will add the corresponding Rep next to the product? I thought about an if statment but its far too may products

Excel Facts

How to total the visible cells?
From the first blank cell below a filtered data set, press Alt+=. Instead of SUM, you will get SUBTOTAL(9,)
Setup a lookup table and use the VLOOKUP function. Check out Excel's help for details and examples for VLOOKUP.

When you say:

Code:
add the corresponding Rep next to the product

You mean you have product code in column A and Rep in Column B.
If your reps are Bob, Bill, & Ted, you want to add how many products Bob, Bill, & Ted have, correct?

Col A will have prod Col B will have rep names
I want Col A to show All the prod that relate to that particular Rep. Many prod ..few reps. If I can have that cell where the prod code chg based on the rep I can then sort out much easier. All I have now is 1 Col that has numerous prod. I want to add an addtl Col that will have the proper Reps

I see You have a list in Column A of a couple hundred products. You want to easily add a sales rep to those hundred products.

If this is the case, type in the reps name next to the first product go in order. As you go the reps name will start to fill in as you type, just hit enter when the aouto fill starts their name.

The only other thing is if you have products you know that only one rep sells, then you could sort your items accordingly, then copy and paste the salesmans name next to those items.

If this is not what you are looking for, send a sample of the data. If you don't already have it, use Colo's HTML maker at the bottom of this page to send a sample.

Hope this Helps,
Michael
