[h=2]Variable Quantity Calculator in Excel 2007[/h]
I am trying to create a variable re order quantity calculator in excel 2007.
I have 20 items.
Each item has a different weight ex. 1.36kg or 2.70kg etc. and a specified order quantity ex. 3 x 1.36kg, 1 x 2.70kg etc.
My total weight for all 20 items cannot exceed a set value (ex. 50kg).
If I zero the quantities in 10 of the items, I need the formula(s) to calculate the change in quantity for each of the remaining 10 items in
proportion to the weight without exceeding the set value of 50kg.

I have used excel extensively for data management & sorting and am comfortable with using pivot tables etc but clueless in developing a formula from "scratch" so to speak.
If my question is not clear or you require more information in order to comment please let me know!

Thanks Much
