Does anyone know how to remove "Sum of" out of pivot table column labels in 2007?

Excel Facts

Select a hidden cell
Somehide hide payroll data in column G? Press F5. Type G1. Enter. Look in formula bar while you arrow down through G.
Yes, right click the column and select Field Settings, from the dialogue box you can rename it to whatever you want.

That doesn't exactly work. You can name it anything different, but it won't let you remove "Sum of". It says 'Pivot table name already exists'. I can work around the issue, but I am just reaching out to see if there is a better way.

I had the same problem. We purchase fuel for our trucke in Utah and Nevada. I changed "Sum of Fuel Utah" to "Utah Fuel". This should work for you.
