Ive just imported a new table into my database, about 8500 rows of data, about 8 columns, increase databse by 2000kb

Now i started making new tables from it with the analysiser, removing columns where the data repeats a lot to new tables, and each time it makes the databse like 10x bigger.

This seams excessive. Am i doing something wrong?

Excel Facts

Create a chart in one keystroke
Select the data and press Alt+F1 to insert a default chart. You can change the default chart to any chart type
Did you try compacting the database to make it smaller? This will clean out all the old deleted information from memory and get rid of empty spaces (kind of like a "defrag" for you Access database).

To do this, from the Tools menu, select Database Utilities, then Compact and Repair Database.

Excellent!

I have many databases that get used daily by a lot users. To keep their size down without doing it myself, I selected the "Compact on Close" option under Tools | Options | General.

This will compact the database every time it is closed. It takes a few moments, but keeps the size down without having to do it manually.
