Hi,

I am trying to remove blank cells from an excel sheet. I have followed the steps, select data range, Go to Special, Select Blanks and I keep getting the message "No cells found".

The sheet in question has been copied from a sheet with formula's and pasted as values. Could this be why the function won't work?

Any help or alternative suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

:)

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple

Yep, that is precisely the reason! Formulas with return empty strings are not the same as "blanks" and won't get picked up.

One way would be to just loop through the range and check for a value of "".

Thanks for your reply.

I have done and find and replace of bank cells to "empty", then done a further find and replace of "empty" to blank.

Then I done "Go to Special", Delete, Shift Up.

And it worked!

Thanks again.
