Remove Value from External Links

Hello

I have a large property detail workbook with a column on one worksheet pulling some confidential data from another separate workbook. This works fine.

I would like this confidential data to be removed once I close the property detail workbook but leave the links in place so that the data can be picked up again if the confidential file is available the next time the workbook is opened.

Is there a method of doing this ? The confidential file will only be sent to a select few.
