I have a Text field in two tables. The field is about 10-16 characters long, I want to remove the leading zeros in both tables. There are so many different answers online which are not working.

Excel Facts

Links? Where??
If Excel says you have links but you can't find them, go to Formulas, Name Manager. Look for old links to dead workbooks & delete.
update table_1 set field_1 = cstr(cdbl(field_1))

that will permanently change the values in the field
example: "0012345" to "12345"

you many not even need the cstr function

does your field have all numeric values (stored as text) or does it contain alphanumeric values?
Note: if the former then as above - converting to number would remove leading zeros I think.
