Can some please tell me how I can delete/remove an array formula.

I received a file that has an array. I need to delete the array, but when I do I get the following alert message. You cannot Change Part of an Array.

this is what the formula looks like, only example

{=vlookup(..........)} :-?

I think { } is what is causing the problem.

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying

You have the delete the entire range it occupies.

HotnUmbers,

try this

select B1:B5
type =A1
then hit Ctrl+Shift+ENTER

Select B1 or B2 ... or B5
hit delete
==> not possible

select B1:B5
hit delete
==> possible

instead of deleting you can do other stuff you want

kind regards,
Erik
