Only moderators can delete posts.

But you can edit a post, within like a 5 minute window.

And depending on the post you may be able to report it and have it deleted, but not sure if this is recommended.

Yeah, the editing window is small. Other than reporting it I haven't found a way. (And, like you, I'm not sure that's what they'd like us to do...)

Yeah, there use to be an unlimited window to edit posts years ago, but that can lead to problems, as if people delete their old posts, it can render threads non-sensical (is that even a word?) and worthless (we actually did have that happen!).
