I've notices a few times over the years that having a Windows system with regional settings that differs from what the spreadsheet was originaly was created with causes date format and formulas to break and generate errors in spreadsheet. My question is if it's possible to load a spreadsheet and force the original 'regional settings' to be kept without enforcing the the regional settings to ensure that spreadsheets works as intended based on that I recently stumbled over this issue again. In this particular case I'm printing filofax inlays which is based on Word document which is merged with a excel spreadsheet to generate the calender pages to be printed. So in my case if I open the specific spreadsheet using the bellow settings:
The above mentioned spreadsheet open ups with tons of errors:
But, if I change the regional settings to use UK then it open fine without errors:
So back to the question, how to I open a spreadsheet without having to change regional settings back and forth which is just frustrating and to be honest how did Microsoft come to the conclusion that this was the way to do it.... but thats another question for another forum.
