I thought this was straightforward but it does not seem to be. I have a two spreadsheets and in one (call it S1) I get a calculated value in column C. In the other (call it S2), I want to link to the values in column C.

If, in S2 B10, there is a reference =S1!C10, and I sort S1, how do I ensure that the value in S2 B10 will continue to show the correct value?

Excel Facts

Square and cube roots
The =SQRT(25) is a square root. For a cube root, use =125^(1/3). For a fourth root, use =625^(1/4).
Ok, I think I figured it out. Since there is a unique Sample ID number in column A of both spreadsheets, I used a VLOOKUP for that Sample ID in S2 A10, referencing that Sample ID in the S1 search. A little clunky but it works.
