Hi All:

I am trying to write a formula to reference cell A1 in this workbook. I am using the entire filepath in hopes of being able to access the data without the other workbook being open.

C:\Users\Username\Documents\Report\[Test Workbook.xlsx]Sheet1

Any suggestions?

Excel Facts

Copy PDF to Excel
Select data in PDF. Paste to Microsoft Word. Copy from Word and paste to Excel.
Try this:

Code:
=INDEX('C:\Users\Username\Documents\Report\[Test Workbook.xlsx]Sheet1'!A:A,1,1)

Or
='C:\Users\Username\Documents\Report\[Test Workbook.xlsx]Sheet1'!A1

Both of these work - thank you for this.

Follow-up: When I use these formulas, the filepath disappears, it only keeps [Test Workbook.xlsx]Sheet1'!A1 ... The problem that I am running into is that I want the filepath to persist in the formula. My ultimate goal for this is to have "Test Workbook MM-DD-YYYY.xlsx" where I can use an indirect function in another workbook to automatically pull data from a specific dated "Test Workbook"

Any thoughts?

The full path should reappear if you close the Test Workbook.xlsx workbook.
