Do any of you computer geniuses know if there is any way I can recover files that were meant to write to a CD but never got there?
I have an odd cd writer in the sense that it told me I could rewrite to a normal (not rw) disc. When I attempted to do this, it lost everything! even what was origonally on the disc!
Does anyone know if there are any temporary files that could have been stored anywhere?
It even let me open a spreadsheet from the disc, edit it, and then save it bak to the disc. or so I thought.
I know it was seriously blonde not backing it up, but unless anyone has a time machine, then I feel stupid enough already!
THanks for any glimmer of hope you may be able to provide me with!

How can you automate Excel?
Press Alt+F11 from Windows Excel to open the Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) editor.
First are you on a network if so the system administrator should be able to recover past files if you know roughly when they were last there.

Second if stand alone perhaps the system restore might work for you from the start button or jsut press F1 on the desktop and type in the help box, system restore.

System Restore won't work.

Do you have a backup program like Norton Ghost running - if so use that to restore.

Otherwise look on your hard drive for a folder called "ready to copy to CD" or similar.
