Range object has row and rows/column and columns

I understand Columns/rows for example are property of range and their type is Range. I understand how to use them. But why we have Row/Column as Long? for what they can be used when I can not use Columns/Rows? Thank you.

When you define a row or column as "Long", you are referring to the row number or column number.
