Hi folks, I am trying to randomly subtotal a list of 1200 different amounts into 33 categories.
In column A are the amounts, like 200, 300 etc. and in column B are the names of workers that generated these costs: Dave, Sue and so on.
The main categories they should be subtotalled in are in another small table on the same worksheet. They are named "Implementation", "Design" etc. and have their maximum values predetermined. So for instance, category Implemetation is set to cost $500 in total. The category Design is set to cost $1250 in total.
Is there a way to have the categories fill up to respectively $500 and $1250 with random smaller amounts from column A? So that in the end, category "Implementation" will consist out of 200-Dave and 300-Sue, but no more? And that Dave and Sue and their values are not repeated in another category?
Any input would be most welcome!
Thanks in advance, Jerry
