I tend to use the same functions all the time, so I added everything I use to the Quick Access Toolbar. However, lately most of the buttons are greyed out on a regular basis. I can still do the function if I go to the regular place in the menu (for instance, going to the data tab to do text to columns instead of clicking the icon), so there's nothing keeping the function from happening. It's just less convenient. Hitting escape doesn't help, nor does saving and re-opening. For some reason sorting A-Z still remains available, but I rarely have to use that one. Sometimes removing something from quick access and putting it back fixes the issue, but that's not ideal to do all the time. Any ideas?

I'm using Office 365 for Business. Here is a screenshot of my Quick access bar.

Excel Facts

Bring active cell back into view
Start at A1 and select to A9999 while writing a formula, you can't see A1 anymore. Press Ctrl+Backspace to bring active cell into view.
I'm using Excel 2019. Many of the icons on the QAT grey out when I protect the sheet. Unprotect the sheet and see if that turns the icons back on. You can also put a Protect Sheet icon to make it more convenient to Protect/Unprotect a sheet. I hope this helps. I have not been able to find a way to stop the icons from greying out. I use the Lock Cell icon and it greys out defeating the purpose of seeing which cells are locked. Excel 2007 did not grey out the QAT icons.
