I am a big fan of the Quick Access Tool bar which I have customized to give easy access to my most commonly used functions.

I have them grouped logically.

For some reason the icons don't stay put. The icon in one location keeps moving elsewhere on the Tool Bar. Occasionally, another icon that I don't want shows up in the Tool Bar.

What's up with that? I can't be the only person seeing this.

Why do you prefer the QAT. I always like making a Custom Ribbon.
With a Custom Ribbon I can choose from about 20 different Icons. And assign Macros or what ever I want to the Icon.

Just curious. I'm using Excel 2013 For PC

I really do not have a answer to your basic question.

Uhhhh, I use the Quick Access Toolbar because it's convenient and it saves clicks for the features I use most. Which is probably the same reason you use a Custom Ribbon.

How would you feel if when you opened Excel it shuffled the location of the icons on your Custom Ribbon, including deleting one icon altogether? That's what's happening to me.

I'm using Excel 2016 for Windows.

No I would not like that. But I have no ideal why that happens.

Hmmm, I don't believe I've ever heard of this happening !
A couple of things to check
1. are you in an office environment where you have a server and IT dept.....they maybe resetting each night.
2. Have you changed versions of Excel or done any form of upgrade
3. Have you installed any addins / apps that may impact on Excel
4. Do you have anti virus software installed

I'm not saying any of the above are the problem, but they could be a good place to start !!
