Is there any way to use the Excel Worksheet IF function and keep the format of a cell?

=IF(RawData!E34="","",RawData!E34)

It does what I want but sometimes, the reference cell is filled with a blue color.
Any ideas?

Excel Facts

Quick Sum
Select a range of cells. The total appears in bottom right of Excel screen. Right-click total to add Max, Min, Count, Average.
Sorry, but a formula can't "Pull" the format from another cell.

It can probably be done with some heavy duty VBA code.
But in my opinion, the reward is not worth the cost.

I thought as much. If this wasn't a shared document with other groups I'd probably go with VBA but when that warning pops up about enabling macros...ignorant people get nervous.

How are the cells filled with blue ?
Is it by standard "by hand" formatting?
or by conditional formatting?

If it's by conditional formatting, perhaps the same conditional formatting rules can be applied on both sheets?
