So much for thinking I had this sorted!

If there's a range called Comm and it's address is $0$3431
what cell should Debug.print Comm(comm.row, "D") be printing?

? Comm(comm.row, "D"),address gives $R$6861
Comm.Row is correct (3431) so should it not be something on *that* row?

You need
VBA Code:
Cells(comm.row, "D").Address
What you had gives the address of Comm offset by it's Item

Thanks but what does Comm offset by it's Items mean ?
I need the sheet name to use Cells and got that from Comm.parent.name.

Hmmmm "Range("A1:B10").Item(5,3) refers to Cell C5, i.e., the cell in the 5th row, third column, starting with A1"
I'm on my bike !
