Hello there people, i have a question, i'm trying to use "Snaking" so that i can print out a report of 5000 rows in 4 columns. I mean i manually typed the data using Excel and it's about 5000 rows, and when i try to cut and paste it's too much work to do, so i learn that in Access i can do what it's call Snaking meaning that wrapping all my 5000 rows into 4 columns per page. In do so, each column i have to manually put the heading and play around with the page setup so that it could fix onto one page. I am wondering is there an easier way or is there a way that i could create a template to do so, so i don't have to repeat what i do each time for a new set of data. Thanks for helping.

Wildcard in VLOOKUP
Use =VLOOKUP("Apple*" to find apple, Apple, or applesauce
I'm not familiar with "snaking" but this article from MS explains multi-column reports - is this what you are looking for?

I'm not sure if this is what you are after, but...

Usually for 3 or more columns, Landscape is the best option
Can't remember -- it's either in Page Setup or the Detail section, you can set the # of columns. (Don't have Access on this machine)
Make the headings fit across the FIRST column, and they should repeat
You can play with Page Margins and the gap between columns to get the best result.

If you need to make another, duplicate the first and change the relevant fields / data source. It's a lot less work than doing it again from scratch. As far as I know, there is no way to set up a multi-olumn report using the Wizard.

Oops -- tried out the bit in the previous post -- Make the headings fit across the FIRST column, and they should repeat -- and it didn't work (but you probably know that already). You need to repeat the headings at the required intervals in the Page Header: another good reason to create one version and use it as a template, if you plan on building several different multi-column reports.
