I want to extract records having a certain sequence of characters (3-4 characters in length) eg. the chracters 'abc' might be embedded in a particulat field, so I may extract only those records which have 'abc' anywhere in the field. How can I phrase such a select statement. :oops:

Thanks

Neeraj

How to show all formulas in Excel?
Press Ctrl+` to show all formulas. Press it again to toggle back to numbers. The grave accent is often under the tilde on US keyboards.
The WHERE clause for your select statement would be like
WHERE (((MyTable.MyField) Like "*abc*"));

From the query design view you could just add
Like "*abc* to the criteria field of the column you wanted to filter on.
