Hi All

I am not sure if this is possible, but I thought I would ask the question in case.

I am using Excel for Mac 2016 and have created a Drop Down list.

As we scroll down the list - the entry is highlighted in royal blue, but I have been asked if I can change this to our specific green shade instead. (I have the RGB values).

My question is can this default highlight colour be changed. I have searched but can't find an answer to this.

Many thanks, in advance.

Whats the difference between CONCAT and CONCATENATE?
The newer CONCAT function can reference a range of cells. =CONCATENATE(A1,A2,A3,A4,A5) becomes =CONCAT(A1:A5)
Hey,

It sounds like there is some conditional formatting rule being applied - have you looked if there is a rule set up already? If so, then change the RGB values

Hi tyija

Thanks for replying, but I set this up and there is no conditional formatting.

I think this is a system issue, as it is the highlight colour that happens as you scroll down the list. I looked in Excel preferences to see if there is anywhere to change the default colour, but I can't see an answer.

Whilst it maybe possible, it will require some pretty complex code probably using API calls and not sure if that is possible on a Mac.
I would advise you tell whoever asked "No".

Hi Fluff

Thanks for confirming.

I wanted to say no straightaway - but thought I should ask the question first

You're welcome & thanks for the feedback

I did that before in one of my small projects but it uses API calls so it can't be done on a Mac AFAIK.
