How would I write a query that would list by number how many records are in a table I can get it to show the total of all the records but in need them numbered 1,2,3 and so on?

Excel Facts

Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
I'm not sure about numbering rows in the query itself... but if you are displaying the query result in a form or report, you can add a bound control that has its data source set to :-
=CurrentRecord
and it will show a serial number for each row displayed.
