OK, this may be a weird one, but if I don't ask I won't know.

Anyway, is there a way to do a do a query for data that is NOT present? I have a database of comics I have and I want to build a query that will give me a list of numbers that aren't in the list, so I can speed up my hunt for the ones I still need.

I have two columns (well, there's more than that, but these are the important ones), one with the comic title (Batman, Spiderman, Superman, etc) and one with the issue number.

If it makes it easer, I could seperate each title into a seperate table.

Thanks in advance for any help that is provided.

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
You'll probably need to build another table with 2 fields matching the Title and Issue #. However, this table should have a full issue list (ie a full sequence for each title that you are interested in).

Once you've got that, you can build a query using the Mismatch Wizard to show the gaps.

I could think of other ways to do it using code, but they get tricky. This is probably the simplest to maintain.

Sounds like that will work. Now I just have to wait for our IT guy to bring me my Office CDs so I can install the function. **** selective install.

Now I just need to build the other tables. Any way to do auto-fills like in Excel? One that will fill every cell in a column with "Batman" and one that will count?

Thanks again.

Not sure about the count, but if you filter out all of the records for Batman you can use the Replace command to put it in all found records.
Another (slower) option: for any field, if you want to put in the previous record's value, [Ctrl] + the apostrophe key will do it for you.
