Hi Everyone,

I have data in a field from which I need to extract any data prior to the first hardspace in the field.

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance.

Natalie.

Excel Facts

Did you know Excel offers Filter by Selection?
Add the AutoFilter icon to the Quick Access Toolbar. Select a cell containing Apple, click AutoFilter, and you will get all rows with Apple
Assuming that you are doing this in a query then in a new column add: -
Left3: Trim(Left([MyField],InStr([MyField]," ")))
Replacing [MyField] with your field name.

Thanks Peter,

I don't need to replace the field, just view the data in a query.

Can you change the formula for me...

THanks,

Natalie.

This does create a new column for you. "Replacing [MyField] with your field name." means that you should replace "MyField" in my example with whatever the name is of the field that you wish to work on.
