Query another excel file that might be open at refresh

Hi All.

I have two excel files, one supposed to pull data out of the other one, but the source file might be open.
There was a way in Power Query (if I remember correctly) that if I only created a connection and added the data to the Data Model the the query would only open the source file in read only mode and be able to do the refresh.
I tried the mentioned technique but I get a [DataSource.Errer]The process cannot access the file ********* because it is being used by another process.


How can I make a connection that will refresh regardless the source file's state?
