Query Access Data from Excel

I am trying to query data from Access into Excel with the criteria for the Access query coming from Excel via VBA. I am using Access and Excel version 2016.
 

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
