query - 2 tables 1 query

I have 2 tables and need to collate the information. the common field is the branch code. one table has multiple entries for each branch code.
The 2nd table has an opening date against each branch code. I need to see how many entries there are for each branch code.
Can anyone help, Please

Can't you just link the two tables on branch code in a query and select the fields you want to return? Is there something more/less that you want.

Perhaps the best thing to do is to provide a very simple example, show the results that you want, and show the results you are currently getting.
