Querry Stopped Updating

Question: What would cause a simple query to stop updating? I can see historical information but can't edit or add. I can delete an old record directly from the table and that appears to be reflected in the query but no other edits seem to pass between the query/form and table. We've used this dbase for years so no recent change should have impacted the file.

FYI, I am self taught in Access so my understanding is intermediate at best.

Thanks in advance.

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
Is all the data tables, query, forms all in the same database?
Or is the data linked in from elsewhere?
Is it just a single users using the database, or multiple?

What kind of query is it? Is it a simple Select Query, or an Action Query?
Is the Form a Bound or Unbound Form?
If Bound, what object is it bound to?

We have a backend data file and the tables are linked to a front-end that is shared with multiple users. Your next question(s) will highlight my limited knowledge of the proper terminology. I'll try my best to answer. Please bear with me.

I created a table to store all user comments for a specific contract record (separate table). There is a subform within our main form that we use to add comments for that particular record. Based on that, I believe this would be a bound form. As for the type of query, I believe it to be a simple query but we do use it to update our table. I'm not sure if that makes it an action query or not.

I may need a little more help answering your question regarding they object its bound to. Can you explain?

Is that the only update query that does not work.? Has someone changed permissions on the folder holding the backend.?

Having a shared FE is not advisable.? Each user should have their own copy.
