Queries - Running only for new records

I have a large Access DB with numerous queries tied into a macro. Each month I import the new monthly file and must maintain to prior months data for historic reporting. Each month the queries take longer to run ( most queries derive field values based upon other fields) due to the increase in size. Is there a way to code the query so it only runs against the new records or records after a given record number if I use the autonumber feature?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

How to change case of text in Excel?
Use =UPPER() for upper case, =LOWER() for lower case, and =PROPER() for proper case. PROPER won't capitalize second c in Mccartney
I dont think you can run query just on the part of the table

couldn't you create a temporary table with new data and run query against
that?

You could limit the records through, get this, a *query*. I am afraid you are in a classic Catch-22. Queries ARE what you use to limit the entries you look from a table.

It sounds like a database management issue. I would recommend either moving old records you no longer need to a different table, or deleting them altogether.

Thanks for the response. I probably could create a temporary table and run the query against it. Bear with me here since I am fairly new at this......After I run the queries, how do I get the information from the temp table to the actual table?

Simply import it to BOTH tables. And just delete all the records from your temp table between each use.
