Trying to sort column Max date to the left but this doesn't work; any ideas?

import pandas as pd
ct_mean = pd.crosstab(df['Check-In'], df['Date Captured'].sort_index(axis=1, ascending=False)
values=df['Current price'], aggfunc='mean').fillna('')

Many thanks.

Sort after the cross tab is created.
Python:
import pandas as pd

ct_mean = (
    pd.crosstab(df['Check-In'], df['Date Captured'], values=df['Current price'], aggfunc='mean')
    .fillna('')
    .sort_index(axis=1, ascending=False)
)

Btw, did you figure out the other thread?
