Hello all,

I've tried everything, but I can't seem to figure this out (if it's even possible)...

Basically, I have the following columns: Name (in alphabetical order), position, tier (tier based on position)

This is all in the "Master" tab, but I have another tab that takes each position and places each person in the specific tier (this is currently done manually). Is there anyway I can use a formula to pull the name if their position matches the position and their tier matches the tier. I've attached an example pictures of what I'm looking for (at least I hope it worked. I'm not sure how to attach the pictures or attach the actual document). Thanks!

EDIT:

In case the attachments didn't work... here is what I'm looking for:

Master Data (Each comma signifies a new column):

Brandon Jones, QB, Tier 1
Grant Jones, RB, Tier 1
Justin Johnson, RB, Tier 1
Will Smith, RB, Tier 2
Kevin Wilson, RB, Tier 1
Sean Taylor, QB Tier 1
Shawn Johnston, QB, Tier 2
Kyle Moore, QB, Tier 1
Dustin Brown, RB, Tier 2

Then I want to place each name in the same column (Based on position... 1 column for QB... another for RB.... and in that column will be an alotted 10-20 rows for tier 1 and tier 2)... I want to write a formula that will place each name in the master data into the correct tier and column based on their position and desired tier. Thanks!

Excel Facts

Why are there 1,048,576 rows in Excel?
The Excel team increased the size of the grid in 2007. There are 2^20 rows and 2^14 columns for a total of 17 billion cells.
I'm not sure how to attach the actual document

rosetc16,

Welcome to the MrExcel forum.

So that we can get it right on the first try, can we see your actual raw data workbook with the Master worksheet, and, can we see what the results worksheet (manually formatted by you) should look like?

You can post your workbook/worksheets to the following free site (sensitive data changed), mark the workbook for sharing, and, provide us with a link to your workbook:

rosetc16,

Thanks for the latest workbook/worksheets.

Maybe one of the formula Guru's will be able to solve your request.
