i need to know if a macro can pull data from a closed worksheet but here is the kicker it has to find a certain row based on info imputed in a certain cell. now once it finds said input it needs to extract certain cells from that row. any help would be gratefully appreciated. thanks in advance.

Re: can it be done

Most anything can be done with Excel Vba.

But it's hard to provide answers when you provide no details.

You said
closed worksheet
But did not give sheet name

You said:
find a certain row based on info imputed in a certain cell

Again no specific details which certain cell

You said:
now once it finds said input it needs to extract certain cells from that row

Certain cells??

And when extracted which I assume you mean copy

And then do what?

Re: can it be done

Ok let me start off with this, the worksheets are categorized by a listing (ex. WAD C&S 18-45, WAD INTERNATIONAL 18-40 So many different worksheet names ) but this will differ for every new barcode placed in the A column of the Notes worksheet. Now once you open the correct listing there are many barcodes listed with information about that product. I need it to look through this sheet to find the row the certain barcode is on and pull 2 different pieces of information 1 from column M and 1 from column O. Then I need that info to be copied and pasted on another worksheet ( inc box), column M info will paste on row 1 column O info will paste on row 3. But I only need this macro to active when the Notes worksheet has info placed into Column N. Now this input is various as well.

The sheet name will vary. It will be decided from a cell on Notes sheet C column

The "certain" cell would be in A column which will contain the barcode that needs to be found to locate the correct row I need

Hopefully this explains it a little better if not let me know and I'll try to post pictures later
