Sir,

I have developed a customized register to enter & retrieve stock information using Excel 2003. Now I would like to copy-protect that file from unauthorized use. I heard that there is a function called "fileExists" in MS-Excel. Can you please help me how to write a code that will check for the existence of a .txt file saved in a different location of the computer? Awaiting your valuable reply.... Thanks in Advance

Excel Facts

Last used cell?
Press Ctrl+End to move to what Excel thinks is the last used cell.
you can use the Dir( ) function to check for any kind of file...

Code:
if Dir("C:\"KeyFile.txt")="" then
    msgbox "Oops not licenced"
    application.quit
end if
[code]

Sorry Diddi. The said code is not working. Can you please help me in this regard. I have rewritten your code as - if Dir("C:\KeyFile.txt")="" ie; I have excluded one " from your code. still it is not working.
