Dear Friends

I have a workbook with two worksheets Sheet 1 and Sheet2

Now in sheet 1 I want user to be able to select ONLY cell A1 and B1. Rest of the cells in the sheet 1 should be restricted.

Also cell A1 of Sheet 1 contains a hyperlink to cell A2 of Sheet 2 and cell B1 of sheet contains a hyperlink to cell B2 of Sheet 2.

What I did was

1 Unlock all cells in sheet 1
2 Selected cell A1 and A2
3 Locked these two cells
4 Applied protection

But the thing is that after applying protection, when I click on cell A1, it takes me to cell A2 --- okay that's fine BUT if I click on any other cell in sheet 1 say D10 it again takes me to cell A2 of sheet 2. I want excel to take me to cell A2 of sheet 2 only when I click on cell A1 of sheet 1.

Hope I made sense :banghead:

Excel Facts

Lock one reference in a formula
Need 1 part of a formula to always point to the same range? use $ signs: $V$2:$Z$99 will always point to V2:Z99, even after copying
Just to add when I said I want all the cells in sheet 1 except cell A1 and B1 to be restricted, I mean I don't even want user to be able to even select the rest of the cells. That's why while applying protection, I checked only Select unlocked cells and unchecked Locked cells.

regards
