Hi,

Is it possible to protect certain columns with a password. I would like to password protect some columns in order to allow only a certain number of authorised people to edit them?

Thanks,

Excel Facts

Formula for Yesterday
Name Manager, New Name. Yesterday =TODAY()-1. OK. Then, use =YESTERDAY in any cell. Tomorrow could be =TODAY()+1.
if you look under format cells the last tab is protection. What you need to do is untick all cells that you want editable then you can set a worksheet password allowing only editable cells to be entered.

by code this is
Locking
Code:
Columns("D:D").Locked = True

Unlocking
Code:
Columns("D:D")..Locked = False

Hi,

Ok, so I have two different levels of people of whom I would like to be able to edit certain things. For example, supervisor can edit some areas and a manager with have more areas available to edit?

Would that be possible. I need all to view but only access as needed.

Thank you again

Have to say, not tried it myself. I have built my own multi-password system in the past but its not straight forward
