Hi All,

Looking on some help when creating a mail merge document using Form toolbox commands, ie. Text Form Field, Check Box, Drop Down etc.. Once I protect the document, I'm unable to print for all records in the data source. In fact, the Mail merge toolbar gets greyed out. I've even tried Continous section breaks in the document.

I noticed after completing 4 or 5 people's information, then unprotect it to print the document for the data source, the form field that were filled in all blank out.

Any ideas?
Paul

Is there a shortcut key for strikethrough?
Ctrl+S is used for Save. Ctrl+5 is used for Strikethrough. Why Ctrl+5? When you use hashmarks to count |||| is 4, strike through to mean 5.
Hi, Paul.

Can't do that.
Can't run a mail merge AND a form on the same doc.

My suggest:

Put something in the mail merge document, like "insformtxthere", etc.

Then, do finds and replaces. Replace "insformstxthere" with "clipboard contents", which would be a text form field.

Also, unprotect/reprotect does that unless you tell it not to using VBA:

ActiveDocument.Protection... something like that. You'll find it if you do VBA. :)

Protected Mail Merge

Hi Dreamboat,

Wow, a little out of my league, but I'll keep your post handy and play/learn with VBA for awhile.
