I have a very naïve question. I have tried to search for it on the forum but have not been able to find any suitable answer.

My question is that, is it possible to restrict access to a cell to a particular person,. i.e., for example person A can input data in cell A1 only and similarly person B can input data in Cell B2 only.

Is it possible to do do so?? if yes then how I may be able to do it?

Excel Facts

Control Word Wrap
Press Alt+Enter to move to a new row in a cell. Lets you control where the words wrap.
It would probably be better to lock the entire worksheet, and control all data entry through a form, where you can direct exactly where you want each entry to go (based on whatever conditions you want).
Note that will require some VBA coding.

Cross-posting (posting the same question in more than one forum) is not against our rules, but the method of doing so is covered by #13 of the Forum Rules.

Be sure to follow & read the link at the end of the rule too!

Cross posted at: Protected access to a particular cell
There is no need to repeat the link(s) provided above but if you have posted the question at other places, please provide links to those as well.

If you do cross-post in the future and also provide links, then there shouldn’t be a problem.
