Hi Guys,

i have a project plan that I would like to restrict access to and as a point is marked complete it will release the next part of the project. I.e the first task is read a policy, once this is complete the next task will be apply this to your role then, once this is completed, the next task will be complete the policy form. Would it be a case of just using and if formula?

I would also like to to be able to release certain tasks dependent on the date. For example if the plan started today (21st May 2012) then on the 21st June 2012 certain rows (regardless of completion will be released.

Finally, is there a way to get this emailed to a specific email address on a specific day of the week?

Sorry for the mass questions!

Thanks,

James

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
Maybe, but I would think a better way would be to all of the upcoming parts locked and then have event code that will unlock the next task upon completion of this task.

Without seeing the layout of the data and some rules that you apply it is difficult to be more specific I feel.

Would it be easier to have a page where we could tick boxes to un hide the cells? I am conscious that is a massive Project Plan and will need to drip feed it.

Personally, I am not in favour of things like checkboxes on a worksheet. The event code approach seems more straight-forward.
