Problems with bookings

I'm having problems stopping items being doubly booked out at the same time. I have created a booking form and am trying to make only the items that have not been booked and are currently available appear on the drop down list on the form. I have fields for the date of the booking and the period of the day on the form, is there some way that once the date and period have been entered that the form will automatically update by taking off items that have already been booked?
Can anyone please help?

Thanks!

Excel Facts

Format cells as date
Select range and press Ctrl+Shift+3 to format cells as date. (Shift 3 is the # sign which sort of looks like a small calendar).
When your Drop Down list is feeded by query (if not - than it's a good idea to be so) use Where condition it this query to eliminate booked terms and than use VBA event (AfterUpdate for Form or Click for button that you use for updating your bookings) to Requery your Drop Down list....
