Hi guys.

I've been having trouble with the F8 function key for a while now.

As you know, this key is used to select.

However, sometimes it stays on and I can't turn it off, so when I scroll through cells without selecting, it keeps selecting the cells I'm scrolling through.

I don't know if I've managed to explain myself.

It must be like an extend function that I activate in some way that I don't know, but the only way to be able to turn it off is to close and reopen Excel.

Could anyone help me?

Thank you very much.

Do you hate GETPIVOTDATA?
Prevent GETPIVOTDATA. Select inside a PivotTable. In the Analyze tab of the ribbon, open the dropown next to Options and turn it off
When you click F8 once you will see "Extend Selection" in the status bar at the bottom of the window. It sticks until you press F8 again. Are you saying that when you press F8 for the second time, it doesn't turn off?

Yes, it happens to me very occasionally, but it's there.

I don't know what's happening or what I'm doing, but when I move through the cells they keep getting selected, and even pressing F8 doesn't get me to remove it, so I have no choice but to close Excel and go back in.

Do you have any other problems using F8 for other purposes, other applications? I wonder if this is a keyboard problem.

No. I have this problem right now. With F8, then Control + left bottom, and then I have to close Excel because it selects all cells.
