Show numbers in thousands?
Use a custom number format of #,##0,K. Each comma after the final 0 will divide the displayed number by another thousand
Is your window zoom set to something other than 100%? Zoom sizes other than 100 can cause this to happen.
ActiveX controls are sometimes unreliable and you've just encountered behavior they regularly show.

In that case I think you can't do much more than remove the control and add it back. With no warranty it'll keep behaving itself.
You could record a macro while you size and place it where it should go and have the Workbook_Open event call that macro?

I advised to record the macro, not to write it :-)
A recorded macro will be inserted in a normal module. The ThisWorkbook module is where you add the Workbook_Open event. Plenty of explainer videos on youtube on how to do that I imagine.
