i am having trouble doing a lookup. for example, my headers are quantity, gauge, profile, color, price. for the different gauges of metal i have, there are different colors available. basically, when clicking 29ga i want it to list the colors available in 29ga only...not 26ga or 24ga colors, and when they are listed, i would like them in drop down format. is this possible? to define colors to a specific gauge and then return the list in a drop down format?

Qty Gauge Description Color Unit Price Line Total

Excel Facts

Move date out one month or year
Use =EDATE(A2,1) for one month later. Use EDATE(A2,12) for one year later.
sorry, von.

it worked perfect, i am trying to build it out further, and i am having some problems making it work. i know what i want it to do, i just cant figure out all the steps in the middle. can you not put just a number in the name box?

Not in the name box, no. The range names must be text--so it has to start with a letter or underscore. For example, naming a range "123" will not work since it is not a valid name. However, "_123" is a valid name.
