Problem with Date Format in Data Validation

Hi,

This is my first question on the forum. Please excuse any etiquette mistakes I might have made.

I am using Excel 2010 on Windows 7 and I am having an issue with data validation. My operating system is set to English (US) and returns dates in mm/dd/yyyy format. However, I am creating a spreadsheet for someone and they want dates to be in dd/mm/yyyy. I have changed the language settings in excel to English (UK) and when I change the cell format to date, it is in the format I want. However, when I use data validation to make sure the user only enters dates into the cell, it only allows input in mm/dd/yyyy format and returns the data validation error message otherwise. I am currently using the data validation button in the ribbon since I am not super familiar with VBA; but I am willing to try out solutions that involve VBA.

If anything about my question is unclear, please let me know. I'm looking forward to any help I can get.

Regards,
Amer
