Problem trying to export data to MS Excel to create P Tables

when trying to export the data a error message pops up stating that the data problem came up during load. when you follow up the log it states this message:

XML ERROR in PivotTable
REASON: Missing Tag
ACTION: Aborting current XML group
FILE: C:\DOCUME~1\jislam\LOCALS~1\Temp\PivotTable71132_cachedata.xml
GROUP: ElementType
TAG: attribute

I've looked everywhere for a solution and still aint found one can anyone please help. You can email me on

I've never had this error when transferring spreadsheets, but that could be because I am still in Access 2000.

Are you trying to use the transfer spreadsheet function? Is this a procedure that you are going to be performing often with this table so you want it automated?

If you are just trying to do some ad hoc pivot tables in Excel, you can just copy your query or table by opening your query, hitting select all and and the ctrl+C function to copy. Then just go into Excel and paste (ctrl+V). This really simple and probably not best practice, but I use it a lot if I'm just pulling some data into Excel for quick analysis.
