problem trying to = cell

Something has gone wrongwith my sheet,,,,,when I type =k8 and press enter all that happens is =k8 shows in the cell not what is in k8 no matter what is in k8, and it seems it is doing it in all the column.
Any help with this please?.

Excel Facts

Repeat Last Command
Pressing F4 adds dollar signs when editing a formula. When not editing, F4 repeats last command.
In the Formulas tab of the ribbon under Formula Auditing see if "Show Formulas" is checked.

Also check the the cells are not formatted as text

Try and press Ctrl+`
That toggles the formula pane on/off

Make sure to you do not have a ' before the =

Sorted it now, They were as text but I had to delete the cells after changing to general format and retyping the the formula.
