Problem to get into access database.

Hi Folks, I need a help in MS Access.
When I try to open the data base it gives me the following error.


"The access databse needs to be repaired or it isnt a database file.
you or another user may have unexpectedly quit microsoft accesswhile a mocrosoft access database was open. Do you want microsoft access to attempt to repair the database."


When I click on yesI get the following message:

"You attempted to open a database which is already openby user ....(Which is me only". Try again when the database is available."

Kindly help me resolve this. It is critical.

This question should be posted in the Access forum, not the Excel forum. Perhaps one of the moderators can move it.

Is the database stored on your local hard drive or the network? Wherever it is stored, that computer/network may have to be re-booted for the system to recognize that the user is no longer in the database.

I find that I get that message to if I have an abnormal end to using the database.
