Hi all,

I have a vexing problem. I have a Toughbook CF-H2 Toughbook running Windows 7 pro with service pack 1. The unit has a built in barcode scanner. It scans a barcode perfectly and inputs the number into Word, Word Pad, or a text document but when I try to scan the barcode directly into an excel cell, no joy. The number will flash for a fraction of a second in Excel and then disappear. I think I've solved this problem once before by ticking or unticking some box in Excel but I can't remember what I did and can't find any help on the Internet any more. Please help! I'm at my wit's end!

Excel Facts

Which lookup functions find a value equal or greater than the lookup value?
MATCH uses -1 to find larger value (lookup table must be sorted ZA). XLOOKUP uses 1 to find values greater and does not need to be sorted.
