PRN.xlsx -- invalid filename

PRN is a pharmacy abbreviation for "as needed"

so the med is not "every 4 hours" or "one before bedtime", but it is "as needed"

so I'm making a report of all prescriptions designated as PRN
and I'm trying to save the file as PRN.xlsx

and I get "the filename is reserved for use by windows"

so I saved it as PRNs.xlsx

so is this just some weird thing with my computer or is this a Windows / Excel thing
and if it is a windows / excel thing then why ?
