Printer Errors; Memory?

Have created numerous reports that have corporate logos, etc,
so they may have pretty intensive first page. On the large
server printers (10meg mem) or more they print no problem.
When users try to print on their own personal printer there are no
errors, however, they report goes to la la land and does not print.
Hmm. I think it must be a mem prob. Is there a way to slow down
or perhaps create a generic new fake printer for each user or have
them created pdfs(that would be tough).
Thx

Excel Facts

VLOOKUP to Left?
Use =VLOOKUP(A2,CHOOSE({1,2},$Z$1:$Z$99,$Y$1:$Y$99),2,False) to lookup Y values to left of Z values.
Hi Uriah

How big are the logos? And what format are they in? Are all of the logos necessary? If so, can these be reduced in size? Have you tried manipulating the picture / object into another format that may be a little less resource hungry? Irfanview is a free utility to alter graphics files that might help there.

How much memory do the small printers have? Are they laser of inkjet printers? Do they have 10Mb or 10/100 network cards? Or are they connected via parallel or USB cable? When the report goes into 'la la' land, can you see it in the print queue? If so, how big is the report?

I know, lots of questions but HTH, Andrew :)

Hey

Andy93

Thx. The printer(s) that do not work are small hp laserjett1300's.
And no, I go out the print que, and they are not even sitting
there?

Curious and curiouser..

Thx

Hi
When you check the 1300 print queue and see nothing, are you sure the reports were actually printed to the 1300 and not another printer elsewhere in the building / on the LAN? Silly question I know but I have seen it before.

From memory the 1300 can connect to the PC via the USB cable, so the data transfer rate shouldn't be a problem. If they are connected via a parallel cable, can you swap over to USB and try that? But yes, I agree, some things are a mystery!

Yes, that it was sent to another was one of the first things I checked.
It will print, I found, if I change the setup, print to one of the big
printers at the site, change the print setup again, and come back to the smaller one. Hassle. But I guess it would work.

USB. Oh wow., I did not know I had a usb port on that printer. I have
the old 4000 pin puppy hooked to lpt1. I wonder if that would help?
